The nearest towns are Cockermouth and the Harbour town of Maryport, both approx 6 miles. The nearest Lake is Bassenthwaite and Keswick on Derwentwater is within a 30 minute drive. Horseriding and fly fishing are both available locally. There is a swimming pool on a nearby farm which maybe hired privately. There is a pub within walking distance serving bar meals and a restaurant in a neighbouring village. A footpath runs past the property providing walking from the door. The owner of the property now has a Micro Brewery and can supply his guests with Bottles or 36 pints Kegs of Real Ale on request.
