The Larches is a four bedroomed cottage at Seldom Seen in Thornthwaite, a truly tranquil location. Surrounded by woodland on the slopes of Whinlatter forest the cottage is a perfect away from it all retreat with the delight of visiting red squirrels. It has the most fantastic summer house (or belvedere) with a deck at the top of its fellside garden, which has chairs, table and lighting It has superb views across the Derwent marshes and to the distant fells. You can walk or cycle from the doorstep and sail on the lake at Bassenthwaite. There is an art gallery and coffee shop in the village and pubs, restaurants and a shop in the neighbouring village of Braithwaite and an abundance of amenities in nearby Keswick.
