Accommodation overview: Just one mile from the golden sandy beach at Gorran Haven and three miles from the picturesque fishing harbour of Mevagissey, this detached, double fronted, 19th century cottage is set in the peaceful village of Gorran Churchtown. Recently modernised and benefiting from double glazing and central heating, it offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for a relaxing family holiday and is perfectly situated for touring the whole of Cornwall.
The front door opens to a useful entrance porch with coat pegs and an inner door leads directly into a charming beamed living room which spans the width of the original cottage. There is lounge seating on one side with two settees facing the wood burning stove set on a slate hearth, and a dining suite on the opposite side with a wide hatchway to the kitchen.
In one corner of the lounge, four steps lead up to a second sitting/play room with a sofa bed for alternative sleeping arrangements and French doors leading out to the patio; a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. A doorway at the rear of the cottage leads to a newly fitted smart kitchen with a quarry tiled floor and an inner hallway giving access to a fully tiled shower room W.C. with hand basin.
A rather steep carpeted staircase leads up from the hall to the first floor landing where there are a large shower room W.C. with hand basin and three pleasantly light bedrooms with low doorways and a double, single and twin beds respectively.
A door opens from the rear hallway with two steps down to an external laundry room offering storage space of beachgear and three steps continue up to an enclosed lawned garden with a sheltered patio area. There is an off road parking space for one car with additional parking available at the Barley Sheaf Inn nearby.
The small unspoilt village of Gorran has a 15th century church, local shop/post office and a newly refurbished family friendly village pub, all within easy walking distance of the cottage. About one mile away is the sandy beach at Gorran Haven and access to miles of stunning cliff walks along parts of the South West Coastal Path to places such as Dodman Point and Chapel Point.
The working fishing village of Mevagissey is 3 miles away with a popular harbour and plenty of restaurants and pubs, and for a wider selection of amenities the town of St Austell is 9 miles. For garden lovers, the cottage is just 3.5 miles from Caerhays Castle, 4 miles from the Lost Gardens of Heligan, home to Lobbs Farm Shop and a 30 minute drive to The Eden Project. Situated in a little cluster of cottages set at the end of a long unmade lane, the property offers a perfect base for exploring the spectacular coastline nearby with the dramatic South West Coast Path and stunning beaches just a 10 minute drive.
A stable door opens under heavy blooms of wisteria in summer, directly into a useful entrance porch with coat pegs on the wall and the original low front doorway leads into a small lobby. On the left, one step leads down to a neatly fitted kitchen with the original slate flagstones and on the opposite side of the lobby, one step leads up to a charming beamed dining room with pine furniture and an electric log effect fire in the hearth.
Beyond, in an extension to the original cottage, a doorway leads through to a warm and cosy sitting room with a beamed ceiling and comfortable lounge seating next to a Cornish stone fireplace with a log effect electric fire. To complete the ground floor accommodation, a door in one corner of the dining room opens to a walk-in shower room W.C. with small hand basin and heated towel rail.
A rather steep and narrow carpeted staircase leads up from the lobby to the first floor landing and three pretty cottage-style bedrooms all with washbasins; there is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and one with a single bed. A stable door opens from the sitting room to an enclosed patio that provides a lovely sun trap and visitors are welcome to make use of the shared lawned garden surrounding the cottages reached by half a dozen steps. There is on-site parking for one car adjacent to the cottage.
The seaside resort of Bude with its golden sandy beaches, selection of shops and restaurants,and a leisure pool is approximately 2 miles by road. It is possible to walk or cycle to Bude along the scenic canal footpath passing through farmland and a nature reserve, surfing,fishing, golf and horse riding are also available locally. The picturesque villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Clovelly are all within half an hour’s drive.

A fitted kitchen runs along one wall, and there are comfortable dining and sitting areas with a quarry tiled floor. At the far end, one step leads to a double bedded room with views of the river and forest, and a bathroom W.C. with wash basin and bath with hand shower attachment.
From the living room carpeted stairs lead up to two bedrooms and a shower room W.C. with hand basin and double width shower. The large bedroom has a 5ft double bed and views over the creek and forest. The smaller bedroom has two single beds and a window looking over a pretty fountain, the river and forest. The garden, with lawn, flower beds and barbecue area, is stock fenced, but the proximity of water and wildlife may make it unsuitable for toddlers. Dogs must be kept under control.
Hatt , 1 mile away, has a garage, post office and small shop and there are two village pubs within a 10 minute drive. There are two golf courses including the famous St Mellion (handicap required), yacht clubs and canoeing within a few minutes drive. There is horse riding, walking, and beautiful gardens to visit, and the beaches of Seaton and Whitsand Bay are about 30 minutes drive, as is the historic city of Plymouth with numerous attractions including Europe's largest marine aquarium.

Accommodation overview: A comfortable detached single storey cottage in lovely countryside, converted from a wagon house of natural stone and slate, to one side of the entrance of Pollingarrow Farm near the picturesque village of St Kew and only a 10 minute drive from the sandy beaches of the Camel Estuary.
Set in a walled and gated garden the cottage is entered from a sheltered patio area to the front. The door opens to a slate floored hallway with an adjacent shower room W.C. and hand basin. The living accommodation consists of a spacious open plan living room with the character of the wagon house preserved in a high ceiling open to the beams in the apex of the roof. The room is light and pleasant with a pine floor and windows on three sides and a partly separated kitchen.
At the other end of the cottage a spacious bedroom has a 5' kingsize bed, hand basin and a window looking over the front patio area. There is a wall mounted electric heater in each room. At the rear a grassy fenced garden looks out over farmland and an under cover drying area has been provided.
St Kew Highway, about five minutes drive, has a pub, garage, and mini market, the village of St Kew about 3 / 4 mile has a pretty church and an old pub that offers good pub food and there is a 9 hole golf course 1 mile away.

Accommodation overview: A pretty 17th century detached cottage full of charm and character, the old forge was once part of the Earl of Wharncliffe's estate and is set beside a narrow road in the ancient borough of Bossiney, just half a mile from Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur and a 10 minute walk from Bossiney Cove.
Sympathetically furnished to compliment many original features, the cottage has slight changes of level and is entered from the road by a few steps leading up to the front porch and an inner glazed door opens directly into a light and sunny sitting room with an electric living flame fire in the stone fireplace, warm and comfortably furnished.
An inner hallway leads to a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and an attractive double bedroom, with a 5ft bed and deep window seat looking across to the methodist chapel and Bossiney Mound, famed for where Sir Francis Drake was proclaimed MP.
A pleasant dining room, with oil fired Rayburn for background heat in the colder months, still has the original ledge and brace door leading out to an extension at the rear with a bright and spacious modern fitted kitchen with a double oven and a window overlooking the sheltered garden. The nearest beach is Bossiney Cove which has fine sand at low tide reached by a 10 minute walk down a fairly steep incline. The famous ruins of Tintagel castle and Merlins sea cave below are approximately 1 and a half miles. King Arthurs Great Halls / Information Centre and a good selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants are within one mile. The attractive NT harbour at Boscastle is 3 miles and the coastal footpath is very close by leading to the dramatic Rocky Valley. St Nectans Glen is approximately 1 mile.

A low doorway leads into the oldest part of the cottage and a small sitting room with a low board and beam ceiling, an oil fired stove which provides heating and hot water, and a sofa bed as a sleeping alternative.
Wooden stairs wind up in one corner of the room to a gallery bedroom with a 5ft bed, a cross beamed ceiling and slightly sloping natural floorboards. Beyond the bedroom is a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath, and views over the hamlet and surrounding countryside towards the sea. There is off road parking for one small car directly outside the front of the cottage.
The nearest shop and pub are at Delabole, about 2 miles away by road, but can also be reached by footpath across the fields. The attractive fishing village at Port Isaac and the sandy beaches of the Camel Estuary are within a 15 minute drive, and for a wider selection of amenities, the towns of Camelford and Wadebridge are about 20 minutes by car. Trebarwith Strand beach, 1.5 miles away on foot, and the dramatic North Coast cliff path and Tregardock beach can be reached via a walk across the fields.
