Rose Cottage (Cotswolds) details

Rose Cottage is an extremely comfortable Grade II listed 18th century mid-terrace thatched Cotswold stone cottage. This self catering accommodation has been refurbished with style during 2011.

Ebrington is one of the most exquisite villages in the North Cotswolds. It is peaceful, with unspoilt charm, a few miles from Chipping Campden and the famous gardens at Hidcote and Kiftsgate. The village inn serves delightful food and is CAMRA's North Cotswold pub of the year. The Ebrington Arms, only a two-minute walk away, is open Tuesday to Saturday 12pm to 3pm and then 6pm to 11pm and Sundays 12pm to 6pm. Rose Cottage is ideally located for visiting Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford.

Places to visit within the area include:
Blenheim Palace: situated at Woodstock, the home of His Grace the Duke of Marlborough. This magnificent palace is open to the public. Walk through some its 200 acres of parklands. The beautiful gardens here were laid out by Capability Brown. www.blenheimpalace.com
Bourton on the Water: a beautiful Cotswold village, with its own bird sanctuary, miniature model village, trout farm and perfumery.
Broadway Tower and Country Club: situated just outside Broadway. The folly was built by the Earl of Coventry and the grounds hold an adventure playground, a collection of rare animals and a restaurant which is housed in a converted Cotswold barn.
Dovers Hill: owned by the National Trust, this has a superb view from which the Black Mountains in Wales can be seen on a clear day.
Hidcote Manor: the finest gardens in the country are to be found just four miles outside Chipping Campden. Hidcote is owned by the National Trust. 01386 438333
Kifsgate Gardens: situated next to Hidcote Manor and reputed to be one of its main rivals.
Snowshill Lavender Farm: situated in the Cotswold Hills overlooking Broadway and the Vale of Evesham. Started growing Lavender in 2000, and now has 35 different varieties stretching over 53 acres. Gift shop and tearoom serving lavender scones 01386 854821.
Stanway House: a privately owned house, five miles south of Broadway 01386 584469.

Stratford upon Avon: world famous for its Shakespearean connections. Visit the theatres, R.S.C. (info line 01789 412666). Museums, shops and riverside park. Rose & Crown House was built in the early C17th as a merchant's house and for most of the C19th and early C20th used as an inn. The building is Grade II listed and is mentioned in Pevsner's the Buildings of England. It has a very period feel and has some panelling and exposed wooden beams throughout.

The Granary (Cotswolds) details

The Granary incorporates an original stone barn and offers peaceful seclusion in a very rural position at the end of a half mile private road. Guests will enjoy spacious, comfortable and generously sized accommodation with sunny south west facing views across farmland and privately owned woodland.

With a network of footpaths nearby there is plenty of walking and the lack of light pollution means wonderful star gazing at night. It is in an area with lots of native wildlife: badgers, foxes, deer, ravens, sparrow hawks, owls (including barn owls), woodpeckers, nuthatches and lots of garden birds. This is a unique corner of West Gloucestershire, famous for native wild daffodils in spring.

The large enclosed fenced and private garden with cherry trees is safe for dogs. The Granary is adjoining the owners' home.

There is a large privately owned lake nearby (100 yards from The Granary) and guests are welcome to use it (at their own risk) for freshwater swimming and fishing. Well stocked with Tench, Bream, Perch, Rudd and even Bleak, this is an area full of native wildlife such as frogs, newts, toads and dragonflies – with an occasional chance to glimpse a kingfisher.

London is approximately a three hour drive. Local train stations are Ledbury and Gloucester.
