The nearest facilities are only five minutes' drive away in the historic market town of Bromyard in Herefordshire which offers pubs, banks, post office, chemist, supermarket, delicatessen and butchers. Places to visit include the cathedral cities of Worcester and Hereford and the market towns of Ledbury and Ludlow which are all within 30 minutes' drive, and the beautiful Wye Valley and Welsh Borders approximately one hour away. There are several good gastro-pubs within 15 minutes' drive and many National Trust properties that are well worth a visit.

Wall Hills is the ideal celebration venue for family or friends. The open plan kitchen/living/dining area in the main barn makes it most suitable for special social occasions. The smaller stone barn is connected on the first floor and offers a quieter snug/living room, two further bedrooms and a well equipped playroom for young and old guests alike.

The detached cottage has its own private enclosed garden and is located half a mile up a private drive on a working arable farm. It enjoys a rural holiday location which offers country walks with stunning unspoilt views, indigenous wildlife and carp fishing exclusive to the cottage on a peaceful idyllically situated lake.

Docklow village is within easy walking distance and it is here that you will find the village pub, the Kings Head, which offers good hospitality, real ales, and simple meals. Docklow Pools are also located within the village which offer excellent fishing, together with their own pub and restaurant.

There is easy access to attractions such as stately homes, parks and gardens as well as the historic cathedral city of Hereford and ancient market towns Ledbury and Ludlow, the latter of nationwide fame for its many high quality restaurants. The nearest town, Leominster (BR Station) 10 minutes away, offers excellent shopping facilities and Worcester (M5) can be reached in 30 minutes. The area offers fantastic walking, cycling, fishing, and horse riding facilities. Hampton Wafre Cottage comes with fishing in its own idyllic location - please bring your own fishing tackle.

The cottage is some 135 miles from London, 58 miles from Birmingham, 158 miles from Manchester, and 54 miles from Cardiff. It will take you approximately two hours 40 minutes from London by road. Train stations are located at Worcester, Hereford and Leominster. Leominster train station is some seven minutes by road.

Old Burfa is a late 15th century house which has been extensively refurbished and restored over the last 30 years. Its retained charm, making it an unusual house that many like to visit.

Located in the hamlet of Evenjobb overlooking the Brecon hills, Old Burfa is just 18 miles west of Leominster.

There are many attractive towns that are nearby. Presteigne and Kingston offer a variety of good quality shopping including a thriving craft industry.

The Oak at Titley is recommended, with its Michelin Star. The Harp Inn at Old Radnor just three miles away, serves great food and local ale and has a lovely sitting out area where you can enjoy views of the countryside.

There are many great walks which vary in length, including the famous Offa's Dyke that runs along past Old Burfa. Offa's Dyke covers 177 miles and passes through eight counties and three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are also amazing walk throughout the Black Mountains.

There is a mainline station at Leominster.

Special events in the area include the Hay Festival of Literature and Arts at Hay on Wye, Presteigne Festival of Music and Art, Knighton Festival and Titley Jazz Festival.

As the name suggests, the property was once the bakery for this beautiful 16th Century Manor, a house steeped in history and quite simply a stunning location. Bearwood House details

Bearwood House is a half-timbered property in an idyllic rural holiday setting. The house is adjacent to but entirely separate from Bearwood Cottage. If the house and cottage are booked together there is ample space in the dining room for 15 guests.

Endless entertainment is provided. In the sunken garden there is a luxury outdoor hot tub for six people. The games room contains a pool table, air hockey table, tennis table and darts board. Six bicycles including a tandem, croquet, badminton, boules and many other garden games are provided. There is a Wii, a playstation 2, an iPod docking station and a good selection of board games. Tennis is available at the owner's house nearby. Free wireless broadband is provided.

The house is set in grounds of more than an acre with an arboretum, sunken garden and loggia.

The 15c New Inn, village shop, delicatessen and farm shop are a mile away in the picturesque "black and white" village of Pembridge. The Michelin-starred Stagg Inn is within 15 minutes' drive and the market towns of Ludlow (with a further two Michelin-starred restaurants) and Hay-on-Wye are within 25 minutes' drive. Golf at England's highest golf course and flying lessons are nearby. Numerous other outdoor pursuits can easily be arranged. Yoga, tennis and golf lessons can be arranged on request. For something different tarot parties, readings and meditation can also be arranged.

Croft Castle - Home of the Croft family for nearly 1000 years the castle has many stories to uncover.

Accommodation overview: Whites Farm Barn is absolutely stunning and probably one of the best barn conversions we have seen. Set deep within the countryside the property offers a real countryside experience and yet is within a convenient distance of one of the regions most delightful market towns - Ledbury. Internally the barn is presented in a welcoming and attractive open plan style, with large open spaces displaying the oak beams and original 'cross windows'. These period features mix beautifully with some contemporary touches such as underfloor heating. There is also the added benefit of a ground floor bedroom and bathroom. Externally the barn has an enclosed garden to the front and enjoys a lovely location situated down a quite lane within a little hamlet. The owner provides a super welcome basket (and maybe a little homemade Perry!!) and informs us that you can now order Waitrose deliveries to your door. This is an excellent choice for those who like quality, space and something a little historic. Leading directly from the cottage is an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways where badgers, woodpeckers, buzzards and owls may be seen.

Keepers Cottage is a Victorian gamekeepers house and has been completely refurbished to a very high standard, it offers high quality accommodation for up to six people in the cottage and the adjacent converted barn. It is reached by a private track through the woods and is situated in a grassy woodland glade.

Guests have the opportunity to walk or mountain bike on the owners' private estate and in the woods around the house. Ideal den making opportunities for the young, and the surrounding countryside is a haven for wildlife and is steeped in history. Offas Dyke, the border between England and Wales in the Dark Ages, runs actually through the estate and the only neighbours in the woods are fallow deer and badgers as well as buzzards, red kites, ravens and woodcock.

Situated between Hereford and Hay-on-Wye, Keepers Cottage is the perfect base for exploring the Welsh borders, the Black Mountains, the Brecon Beacons and the historic Hereford Cathedral or for touring the unspoilt market towns of Leominster, Kington and Ross-on- Wye. If you would prefer to relax at home, the house itself has a cinema and a sauna as well as a table tennis table and the house and barn are completely enclosed with a courtyard for outside dining and letting children and dogs run free but safely.

Locally, there are excellent pubs and restaurants including the Michelin star pub The Stagg Inn. There is an excellent farm shop and cafe two miles away and other convenience shopping is available four miles away. The famous bookshops of Hay-on-Wye and the gastronomic mecca of Ludlow are also within very easy reach.

If you really want to get away from it all, you can hole up in the cottage and apart from the occasional gamekeeper or woodsman passing by, you will be completely undisturbed.
