The property has undergone a painstaking and complete refurbishment to provide the highest quality in self catering accommodation. No detail has been left with the result a truly superb holiday cottage. The barn is on the edge of the village of Kemble, a traditional Cotswold village that is well located for touring the Cotswold region. In our opinion Little Stalls is a wonderful Cotswold bolt-hole offering real peace and tranquility. The village itself has a small shop and also the benefit of a train station with direct links to London. This has to be one of our finest holiday cottages. Accommodation overview: Just 2 miles inland from the beautiful sandy beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay on the North Cornwall Coast, this attractive semi detached period cottage is situated in a peaceful location on the edge of the village of Marhamchurch. Situated in a little cluster of cottages set at the end of a long unmade lane, the property offers a perfect base for exploring the spectacular coastline nearby with the dramatic South West Coast Path and stunning beaches just a 10 minute drive.
A stable door opens under heavy blooms of wisteria in summer, directly into a useful entrance porch with coat pegs on the wall and the original low front doorway leads into a small lobby. On the left, one step leads down to a neatly fitted kitchen with the original slate flagstones and on the opposite side of the lobby, one step leads up to a charming beamed dining room with pine furniture and an electric log effect fire in the hearth.
Beyond, in an extension to the original cottage, a doorway leads through to a warm and cosy sitting room with a beamed ceiling and comfortable lounge seating next to a Cornish stone fireplace with a log effect electric fire. To complete the ground floor accommodation, a door in one corner of the dining room opens to a walk-in shower room W.C. with small hand basin and heated towel rail.
A rather steep and narrow carpeted staircase leads up from the lobby to the first floor landing and three pretty cottage-style bedrooms all with washbasins; there is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and one with a single bed. A stable door opens from the sitting room to an enclosed patio that provides a lovely sun trap and visitors are welcome to make use of the shared lawned garden surrounding the cottages reached by half a dozen steps. There is on-site parking for one car adjacent to the cottage.
The seaside resort of Bude with its golden sandy beaches, selection of shops and restaurants,and a leisure pool is approximately 2 miles by road. It is possible to walk or cycle to Bude along the scenic canal footpath passing through farmland and a nature reserve, surfing,fishing, golf and horse riding are also available locally. The picturesque villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Clovelly are all within half an hour’s drive.

Accommodation overview: Superbly positioned within 100 yards of Summerleaze beach with outstanding views from the first floor sitting room, this delightful early 19th century character cottage and detached annexe provides extensive and homely accommodation and good outside space.
The gated parking area is large enough for two good sized cars and gives the option of entering the cottage by the front door or, as most people choose, through the breakfast/dining area with table and seating for ten and open plan kitchen with high quality fittings and unusual dual porthole windows overlooking Bude Canal. This area leads to the ground floor sitting room with two sofas, fireplace and bay window to the canal.
At the rear of the ground floor is a twin bedroom with French doors to a small outside patio/eating area and adjacent bathroom WC with power shower over the bath and wash basin.
Upstairs the feature is the sitting room with bay window facing the beach and sea which seems almost in line with the water when the tides are at their highest. The master bedroom faces the garden and has an en-suite bathroom WC with power shower over the roll-top bath and wash basin. There is also a comfortable twin bedroom facing the canal and beach.
From the rear terrace a flight of steps leads to a level lawned area surrounded by shrubs and flower beds from which another flight of steps leads to the annexe, recently constructed with a slate roof to echo the main cottage. Inside there is a twin bedroom, sitting room with double sofa bed and French doors to the garden, and a spacious bathroom WC with shower over the bath and wash basin.
Young children will require supervision in the main cottage as upstairs windows are low although supplied with security locks. For parties of six people or less wishing to book the cottage only, outside of the period 1 May to 1 September and the Spring, Autumn and Winter holidays please contact our office for an under-occupancy reduction. There are two public houses a few shops (within walking distance) as well as a church. There are more more shops and services to be found in Wootton Bassett, 3 miles away. Slightly further afield is Bath which is approximately 25 mins away, while the attractions of the Southern Cotswolds are all within an easy drive - including Cirencester, Tetbury (excellent for antiques) and Malmesbury.
