Well and Stable cottage are set in a secluded, peaceful location on a small farm and enjoy far reaching and uninterupted views.

There are large grass lawned areas with seating, pinic tables and barbeque, ideal for children and dogs (no restriction on size or number of dogs)

Turnpike Cottage is a recently refurbished Grade II listed, three bedroom property set in the Devon countryside yet only ½ a mile walking distance from the sea. The cottage is in a fantastic location between the lovely South Hams village of Stokenham and the coastal village of Torcross.

There are some great pubs and restaurants nearby and a superb farm shop just down the road. It is ideally placed for walking, bird-watching, sailing and exploring the surrounding area of Outstanding Natural Beauty rich in history and wildlife. The local market town of Kingsbridge is about 15 minutes and historic Dartmouth and stylish Salcombe are just 20 minutes away. The private beach at Blackpool Sands is only a 10 minute drive away with parking, changing rooms and a beach cafe.

Twenty acres of gardens, pasture and farmland surround the property with stunning views across the fields and out to sea. The garden is well established with an abundance of flowers, shrubs and soft fruit bushes and trees. It is fully enclosed (child and dog safe) and consists of different levels which are accessed by steps

Children are welcome at the property; a cot and highchair are provided. You will also find a few extras to make your stay more comfortable and packing a little easier – including toys, books and games.

Two well behaved dogs are also welcome and there is excellent walking nearby.

Please note that there are steps in and around the property making disabled access difficult.

The cottage is situated side on the Stokenham to Torcross road but access to the cottage is to the side of the property with its own drive and large parking area.

Cocks Cottage is a two bedroomed ancient detached granite cottage, set in a very peaceful and sheltered position a third of a mile from the village of St Teath and three miles from the small town of Camelford. St Teath has a shop, post office and pub.

The nearest sandy beach is four miles away at Port Gaverne where there is a magnificent stretch of coastal path. The surfing beaches of the Camel Estuary and Padstow are within easy reach by car. Hope Cottage is traditional semi-detached Cotswold stone property in the picturesque village of Naunton. The village is situated alongside the River Windrush in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage has been refurbished to modern standards, but retains character features including exposed wooden beams, a wood burning fire, inglenook fireplace and window seats. Scenic walks along the Warden’s Way can be joined a few metres from the door. The village boasts a 15th century church and medieval dovecote. The Black Horse, a traditional country pub (known locally for its good food) is less than 100 yards from the cottage.

Places to visit nearby include Bourton-on-the-Water and its shops, pubs and attractions (4 miles); the lovely town of Stow-on-the-Wold, with its quality shopping and restaurants (5.5 miles); Sudeley Castle (7 miles); Sezincote Gardens (10 miles); Batsford Arboretum and Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 miles); Longborough's popular opera festival in June/July (11 miles). Little Maunditts Cottage was completed to a very high standard in early 2015. The sympathetically restored barn has the charm of an old building but with the benefits of all modern facilities. It has a wealth of interesting features including fabulous marble radiators and handsome oak doors reclaimed from a Cotswold Manor House. The large modern kitchen has a range cooker, dishwasher, etc and the dining table comfortably seats 8. An additional seating area means the kitchen is the sociable place to hang out whether cooking or relaxing and pouring the wine! South-facing triple bi-fold doors open onto the delightful enclosed garden bringing the outside indoors and making al fresco dining an easy option. All 3 en-suite bedrooms are equally well equipped so couples and families travelling together can all enjoy a master suite each. The additional cosy sitting room is well equipped with local maps and guidebooks for you to borrow during your stay. The cottage is heated with underfloor heating throughout the downstairs area & also in all the bathrooms so it is always warm underfoot. The bedrooms have central heating.

Little Maunditts Cottage is tucked into a quiet lane in the very centre of the historic village of Sherston. Sherston was voted by The Times newspaper as the 5th most desirable place to live in Britain! This delightful and friendly village hosts many traditional events and is especially renowned for the annual Boules Tournament weekend in July which attracts teams from all over the country - and even from France. Little Maunditts is within easy walking distance of the village centre where you will find the excellent Rattlebone Pub, a wine shop, Tucks Farm shop & florist, and the community run Post Office and Village Stores. There are plenty of wonderful scenic Cotswold walks both direct from the doorstep of the cottage or a short drive away.

There is easy access to nearby Tetbury, renowned for its wealth of antique shops, and also close to Prince Charles' residence at Highgrove (gardens open in summer, advance booking required). The National Arboretum at Westonbirt is only 5 miles away and a must-visit at any time of year but especially so when the autumn colours put on a fantastic show. Also 5 miles away is the historic town of Malmesbury, the oldest borough in England, with its' impressive semi-ruined Abbey and picturesque winding streets.
A short drive away are the Roman towns of Bath and Cirencester, the Stroud Valleys, the Marlborough Downs and the Cotswold villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. Castle Combe is frequently voted the prettiest village in England and Lacock is almost entirely owned by the National Trust and is home to the Fox Talbot Museum of Photography and Lacock Abbey. Lacock is often used as a film set for period dramas such as Pride and Prejudice and Cranham and was used in the Harry potter films. Castle Combe was the set for the original Dr Dolittle film and, more recently, Warhorse. It is an also a leisurely and scenic drive to the popular (but usually much busier) Cotswold destinations of Burford, Stow-In-the-Wold, Bourton-On-The-Water and Moreton-In-Marsh.

Little Maunditts is a perfect location for visiting the Badminton Horse Trials, Fairford Airshow or the Womad festival.

Thornwell Cottage is a 200 year old detached Grade II listed property with flagstone floors, exposed beams, extensive private gardens, plum orchard and a paved sitting / dining area. Views across the River Dart can be enjoyed from the lawns and bedrooms.The property is on a quiet single track lane just 75m level walk from the free car park, and is situated in the centre of Dittisham, one of the most charming and unspoilt villages in the South Hams.

The picturesque waterfront, ancient church, two friendly pubs, well stocked village shop and riverside cafe are all within easy distance of Thornwell Cottage, making it the ideal holiday haven at any time of year. Ring a bell at the waters edge just minutes from the property to summon the ferry to Greenway, former home of Agatha Christie, (see National Trust website), hire a boat to explore the river yourself, or take the passenger boat from Dittisham to historic Dartmouth with its wonderful range of shops and restaurants.

From Dartmouth a variety of boat trips are available including Dartmouth Castle, Salcombe and the lovely town of Totnes, or hop across on the ferry to Kingswear and take the delightful steam train journey to Paignton. Blackpool Sands, a Blue Flag Award-winning beach is within eight miles and features the Venus Beach Cafe which serves organic and locally produced food.

Dittisham is a popular crabbing hotspot for old and young alike so get your crabbing lines and bait from the Anchorstone cafe and grab a crab or two! The crabs don't mind - they know they'll be scuttling home to the riverbed at the end of the day.

Backed by green hills and woodlands, walkers are well catered for with excellent walking opportunities, including the Dart Valley Trail which runs through the village close by the property.

PARKING: Proceed along The Level and turn left into The Level Car Park (Free parking). Proceeding on foot, Thornwell Cottage is a very short walk away; turn left out of the car park and go straight along the lane for approx. 60 metres then look for a high white iron gate set in to a stone wall on your right hand side. (See main property image above, but note that you will be approaching the property from the other direction, so the gate will be on your right).
