Helton is a small picturesque village in this little known area of the Lake District, a perfect place to get away from it all, in tranquil surroundings. Other nearby attractions & activities include the Lakeland Bird of Prey centre, Dalemain historic house & gardens, the Alpaca centre, Ullswater steamers, Aira Force waterfall, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. There are two delightful pubs and a village shop, a mile away, in the neighbouring village of Askham. The attractive market town of Penrith just 10 minutes drive.
