Greater choice of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, bike hire, summer events and excellent Thursday market 20 min drive at Villefranche-de-Rouergue situated on the river Aveyron. Stunning scenery is easy to find in this interesting area including the limestone cliffs of the river Lot, with picturesque St Cirq-Lapopie, 50 min drive, offering artisan shops and the famous Pech-Merle caves well worth a small detour a few km further. A drive to the south will show you the gorges of the river Aveyron, and you should not miss visiting hilltop Najac with its craft shops and lovely castle.
